It comes as a surprise to many that fresh flowers are available all year round in a such a dry country, but the rich soil of Cyprus has cultivated almost 130 endemic species of flora, in addition to the more well known varieties. Wedding bouquets were initially introduced to 'perfume' the bride - thanks to running water, soap and deodorant, they now just add beauty to an already beautiful occasion.
